Embedded Firmware Engineer
We are seeking a hands-on embedded firmware engineer who will develop embedded firmware to support a new kind of network and a class of valuable applications that improve building performance by saving energy, extending equipment life and improving labor efficiency. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience, a BSEE or MSEE degree and a large subset of the following skills and qualities:
Duties
• Implement production quality, low maintenance FW in C/C++ and assembly.
• Break down user stories into manageable, measurable tasks.
• Implement functionality under both operating system (i.e. Linux) and non-operating system targets.
• Identify and specify system level features that may include HW, SW, FW, and Mechanical components.
• Identify and adapt development environment to improve efficiency
• Work closely in a multi-discipline team to develop/install/improve OutSmart system into customer sites.
• Other miscellaneous duties to enable the day to day operation of OutSmart.
Technical Skills/Experience
• Experience with agile software development methods and tools (i.e. XP, Scrum, etc.).
• 3+ years of embedded systems development and deployment.
• Understanding of multiple network and communication systems (i.e. TCP/UDP, Sensor Networks, etc.)
• Experience with multiple programming languages and scripting languages (pearl, bash, python, etc.).
• Successful release and support of a high volume embedded product.
• Analyzing Information , General Programming Skills, Software Design, Software Debugging, Software Documentation, Software Testing, Ability to understand HW schematics, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Software Development Fundamentals, Software Development Process, Software Requirements

Outsmart technology provides comprehensive information to manage, measure, diagnose and control power within a residential or commercial building. It requires little or no change in behavior/methodologies for electricians and builders.
